I got the barrel at auction thinking I could make a grill or smoker out of it but I decided to use for a sculpture instead. My sculptures aren’t meant to make any profound statements or change the world. I strive for fun and clever. If you can smile and forget your troubles, if only for the moment, I  will consider the sculpture a success.

Barrel of Monkeys was purchased by the Sedalia Missouri Parks & Recreation Department in October 2024. It is permanently on display in Liberty Park in Sedalia, MO.

Before finding its permanent home, it was showcased through Sculpture Walk Springfield from 2018 to 2019. Springfield residents loved the sculpture so much that Sculpture Walk Springfield kept it for their fourth collection until April 2020. After that, It was a part of St. Joseph Sculpture Walk in St. Joseph, MO until 2021. Finally, it was on display on Historic C-Street in Springfield, MO from 2023 to 2024.
